Beyonc Just Launched Her New Perfume, C Noir. Here's Everything You Need To Know| Glamour UK

Whenever Beyoncé drops a new project, we want to know about it – whether it's an album, a haircare line or a new perfume.
Ever since her Renaissance, Bey's had her head back in the game when it comes to her beauty empire. Back in July, she teased the news of her first new perfume launch in almost a decade – with a blacked-out bottle silhouetted on her website. And now, her new scent, Cé Noir, has launched exclusively on her own website… but there's just one catch. It's currently only available in the US and Canada, so if that's not you, you'll have to wait for Bey to take her spritz international (we'll update you on this as soon as we hear more).
Everything we know about Beyoncé's new fragrance, Cé Noir
As for what to expect, the fragrance opens with clementine and golden honey notes, followed up by rose absolute and jasmine sambac peeping through from the heart. Namibian myrrh and golden amber grounds the whole scent in the base for a warm, sexy citrus floral that costs $160 (around £125) for 50ml.
Always a perfectionist, Beyoncé brought in the experts and called upon French perfumers (world renowned for their noses) to create the perfume in France. Plus, Bey's been clear about her hands-on involvement in the project, since her website states her new perfume has been “crafted and designed by Beyoncé”.
Just last month, Bey teased us with more details while sharing an unboxing of the scent on her Instagram. “I'm super excited, this is my Cé Noir unboxing and it's finally here after years of work,” she told fans. Translated from French, the perfume's name means “This black” with “Cé” also nodding to the last syllable of Bey's name.
“I wanted something to be monolithic and I wanted something to have a little bit of intimacy, so right here you can see inside the soul of the perfume,” Beyoncé said, pointing to the circular window in the fragrance bottle where you can see through to the liquid inside. Her choice of words led to legions of followers in the comments discussing what she meant by ‘monolithic’ – and the word saw a spike in Google searches around the time the video was posted.
“To begin with, the way Beyoncé speaks is ‘monolithic!’… Whatever that means 😂,” one user posted, to which another responded: “don't play with Bey like she doesn't know what she's saying… ‘monolithic’ - formed of a single large block of stone.” Another follower concluded: “the design is monolithic” referring to the grand, stepped shape of the mirrored bottle. “I'm assuming 👸🏽 was referring to the bottle – looking like it's all cut for the same stone,” another user seconded.
Continuing, Bey told fans: “alright… my first spray,” before misting it across her neck. “Ooh! Ooooh! Ooooooooh! I actually spray this during the show a few times. Gotta keep it fresh,” she revealed, concluding: “and that is Cé Noir. Say no more.”
Of course, the last time Queen Bey dipped her toe in the perfume world was 2014, when she released Rise. And before that, she gave us Pulse (2011) and her most popular spritz, Heat (2010) – which you can still pick up on Amazon.
So, if you want in on Beyonce's perfume, we'll be tapping up our mates in the States – or spritzing through her past archive until her newest fragrance lands in the UK.
