Prepper's ESTATE with four houses and 20-person bunker hits the market for $6.5million
A sprawling country estate with four houses and a 20-person bunker built by a doomsday prepper scientologist 'for maximum security in an uncertain world' is on sale for $6.5million.
The 323-acre secluded compound in Battle Creek, Michigan, owned by Per Wicktrom and his wife Svetlana, features a stunning main house with yoga studio, gym and sauna, but it will also offer its new owners a 15,000sq ft camouflaged hideout protected by six inches of steel.
The bunker has its own shooting range, bedrooms and bathrooms to accommodate 20 people, two kitchens and an interior grow room to feed a family during the apocalypse.
The shelter is solar powered and has an air purification system, meaning it can sustain itself with no need for its locked-down doom-mongers to venture outside.
Current owner Wickstrom, confirmed to MailOnline by Pennfield Township Supervisor Kevin Leiter, is a prominent scientologist who has made his fortune from drug rehabilitation centers after previously attending a Narconon program which is heavily linked to the church and has been described as a front for the controversial religion in government reports.
Wickstrom, who has been accused of forging court documents in a bid to force Google to take down articles critical of him and his rehab centers, which he has denied, is selling the estate amid a divorce from Svetlana, according to local news site WBCK.
He started building the property in 2013 and spent five years developing the site which includes a state-of-the-art greenhouse, five lakes and mature timberland which has not been harvested for many years.
Preppers have become increasingly common in the US in recent years, with survivalists preparing for natural disasters, political turmoil, nuclear war or pandemics, which has come into sharp focus in the past two years.
